HR Strategy

The "HR Strategy for Researchers" is a mechanism intended to support the implementation of the Charter & Code by research institutions.

It is designed to inform the researchers on concrete steps taken by the undersigning organisations to carry out the incorporation of the C&C principles in their practices.

The HRS4R consists of a simple and light mechanism made out of 5 levels implemented by individual institutions on a voluntary basis:

1. Gap analysis : An internal study is carried out by the research institution to compare institutional practices against the C&C principles;
2. “Human Resources Strategy for Researchers” : The main results of this analysis serve as basis for the definition of a dedicated action plan for the HRS4R;
3. Recognition by the Commission: The HRS4R is acknowledged by the European Commission;
4. Monitoring: The HRS4R is implemented by the institution which conducts a self-assessment every second year;
5. Evaluation: An external evaluation is carried out every 4 years.
